RADIO — Gary Bowden Show, Interview

During World War I the German occupation of Belgium led to starvation conditions for millions of civilians. However, a visionary humanitarian effort organized by Herbert Hoover (yes, the same one who became President) and aided by young, idealistic Americans helped save the day. The story is told in a new book titled WWI Crusaders. It was released yesterday on the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day, and we spoke to author Jeffrey Miller about the incredible relief initiative and how he learned of the story. Our second guest was Marion County Commissioner Randy Elliott, who joined us to explain how the $62M sale of a Fairmont pulp mill will impact the community. And, in our final segment Will Hyman joined us to explain a campaign he and others are undertaking in an effort to decriminalize marijuana. The Sensible Movement Coalition has begun collecting signatures to effect a revision of Clarksburg’s city charter.
